GOOD BEER WEEK Survival Guide

Hold on to your hats, Melbourne GOOD BEER WEEK is almost upon us. Luckily, we’ve been training for this since last year. That’s right, ’training’. Strengthening our drinking arm. Repetitively. Every day. Circuit training between event locations. Working on our Personal Bests. And most importantly working with our man on the ground, Ryan Kemp, to compile this itinerary for GBW with built in pitstops to ensure your stomach is lined, your caffeine levels topped up and your sanity maintained. This is not a drill.

Then check out some of our pick of GABS pitstops:

- See Rose and Tobias at Kent St (open at 10am) for a YH cider breakfast or coffee to ease you into the day. Grab a pork roll from N.Lee Bakery on your way and settle into the hangover.

- Go and see Annie at RRIOT House (inside Oh! Jean Records) for your morning coffee and vinyl fix. On Nicholson Street only 200m from GABS.

- Sunday Bloody Sunday at The Bendigo Hotel. Cheap pints and egg & bacon rolls fresh from The Glory Hole Kitchen. $15 for a roll and a pint.

- The Catfish have everything you need to cure a hangover: Hoagies, Philly Cheesesteaks, more beer. And all only a short stroll away from GABS.

- The Standard Hotel, perfect spot for a parma after a big night and just around the corner from the main event.

- Labour In Vain, "My favourite spot for a quiet beer and a good chat about all the stupid things you have done and why your head currently hurts ha!" says Ryan.

- Tramway Hotel, because burgers and beers are your best mates during GBW. Oh and look at that - just a five minute tram ride away from the hall.
